Semi-powered exoskeleton that regulates the muscular activity of jaw movement for oral functional rehabilitation/training

The sequential oral functions of mastication and swallowing are well tuned in humans. To prevent hypofunction as a risk factor for systemic frailty by motor training, semi-powered exoskeleton was developed evaluated its loading/assist effects monitoring electromyography signals saliva secretion healthy persons. actuator the driving unit combined mechanical powered mechanics driven alternatively an unpowered stainless-steel spring system jaw-opening training loading shape-memory alloy to assist jaw closing. Sequential device movement controlled two electronic circuits with magnetic switching systems match human movement. This realized 25% increase muscular activity 15% saving jaw-closing assistance, enhancement secretion, which could contribute prevention maintenance strengthening function upcoming super-aging society.
